Oil India 

Oil India Limited is India’s first national exploration and production company, a Maharatna whose industrial memory runs to Digboi in 1889. It is an upstream and midstream energy company, not a petrol-pump franchise seller, not a private “oil block broker,” and not a tourism desk for Assam heritage wells. A ministry that reads an Oil India filing, or a refinery that takes crude moved on the company’s pipeline, is still dealing with the same listed Maharatna. The operating map is acreage, molecules, and pipes. Public material describes more than 62,000 square kilometres of onshore acreage and offshore positions in the Andaman, KK, and KG areas as the company names them. Mission 4+ targets more than 4 million metric tonnes of crude and 5 billion cubic metres of gas. The Naharkatiya–Barauni pipeline is given as 1,157 kilometres. Numaligarh Refinery Limited is described as expanding from 3 to 9 million metric tonnes per annum. A net-zero path is framed as about Rs 25,000 crore by 2040. An Integrated Business Financial Plan is cited for FY22-23. Those figures are the company’s own programme facts. They are not a catalogue a chat seller can “allocate,” not a claim that a retail follower can buy a well interest by paying a personal UPI ID, and not a spare-parts invoice. Oil India is therefore a national E&P Maharatna, not a retail fuel brand that takes bookings on social media and not a placement agency. Block awards, joint-venture terms, and vacancy notices belong on official portals and exchange filings. A message that offers an “OIL trainee slot,” a contractor code, or a “priority Digboi tour package” against a deposit is outside the official process. Digboi heritage and the present basin book sit in one legal entity; social colour does not create a parallel explorer.
