CreditAccess Grameen
FinanceCreditAccess Grameen is a Bengaluru-headquartered microfinance institution and, in the company’s own ranking language, India’s largest NBFC-MFI. It is not a scheduled commercial bank, not an urban consumer-credit app, and not a chit fund. The promoter named in the notes is CreditAccess India BV. The public mission is credit for rural women and their households: income-generating loans first, then a short list of complementary products the company itself labels rather than a full retail-bank catalogue. A borrower who meets a field officer in a village centre is still dealing with the same listed NBFC-MFI that publishes the corporate site and staffs the branch grid described below. Reach should be kept as two company-stated snapshots, not collapsed into one slogan. One cut lists presence across 457 districts, sixteen states and one union territory, and 2,276 branches. Another, from homepage-style figures, records more than USD 3.14 billion of AUM, more than 4.4 million customers, and more than 21,981 employees. A further rupee cut the company states is about 44 lakh borrowers and G-AUM of Rs 30,319 crore. Those dollar, customer, employee, borrower, and rupee figures sit side by side as published; this listing does not pick a winner or convert one into the other. The product map is microfinance-led. Income-generating loans (IGL) are the core. Home-improvement, family-welfare, and emergency loans sit beside that book. Retail names the company publishes include Grameen Vikas and two-wheeler finance among others; they are still originated through the institution’s own process, not through a comment-box “approval.” Field discipline, group or individual underwriting as the company designs it, and KYC are not optional extras a stranger can skip in a direct message. Official social destinations—YouTube at the vanity creditaccessgrameen (included even if that vanity later fails), X at cagrameen, Facebook at creditaccessgrameen, Instagram at creditaccessgrameen, and LinkedIn at cagl—are brand and public-information channels. They are not disbursement desks, not collection counters, and not places to share an OTP, PIN, CVV, or password. Impersonation of microfinance brands is common, including look-alike pages that demand a “group leader code” or a card CVV to release a second loan. Confirm products, charges, and repayment only on the company’s own site or with a verified employee. If a stranger DMs a payment link or asks for a one-time password, close the thread.
