Cochin Shipyard 

Cochin Shipyard Limited is the 1972 Government of India shipyard, conceived in 1969, whose first new-build left in 1978 and whose repair business opened in 1981, with early technical association with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in 1982. It is a Miniratna under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways. Its core work is building and repairing commercial and specialised ships, not running a passenger ferry brand and not acting as a crewing agent. A shipowner that dry-docks a vessel at Kochi or a ministry that orders a specialised hull is still dealing with the same listed public-sector company.
